HMF - Home Movie Festival
Image creation, poster design, brochure design,
motion graphics2023Third year, Branding course
The project was done in a laboratory course 'In Second View', the laboratory was an experimental platform that offered to explore aesthetic spaces and working methods,
while
observing and finding inspiration in everyday and unmediated places.
My inspiration came from maps, road signs and old VSH videos that my parents tookwhile we lived in the US during my childhood.
The Home Movie Festival is an annual event
celebrating home movies and filmmaking enthusiasts.
This is an event held all over the world and
organized locally by volunteers.
Every year there is a theme to the festival,
this year the festival is about local identity and
belonging. The festival events provide an opportunity
for individuals and families to take their home movies
out of the archives and share them with the environment.
The event is an opportunity to discover the personal,
historical and social importance of home movies,
to notice the beauty of the past and the magic of
documenting everyday life.
Brochure design
The design of the brochure is inspired by the
square format of the old videos, and contains
images from the videos after they have been
printed and scanned.
Work process
During the semester I created images using
collage, scanning, tracing and digital processing.
I divided the VHS video into frames, printed and
scanned them - which gave them a different texture
and rhythm.
